Hakuouki Reimeiroku and Paper-Based Loot from Japan

I went to Japan at the beginning of October this year and I bought a lot of not needed, but much loved goodies! First part of my loot begins here…

Paper-based loot from Japan!

In comparison to my previous visit, I did not buy as many anime-related goodies. A break-down of the paper-based loot above:

- Vampire Knight Artbook
– Hakuouki Clear Folders
– Hakuouki – Okita Souji Key-ring
– Hakuouki – Okita Souji Stickers (yes I am Okita obsessed *__*)
– Hakuouki – Saito Hajime Bag Holder
– Hetalia Axis Powers Poster
– Durarara Poster
– Dengeki Girl’s Style October issue

The Dengeki Girl’s Style magazine came with a special booklet, packed with information on the new Hakuouki game (Hakuouki Reimeiroku)! I am not sure whether anyone is playing the game or has played it already… If you have, how do you find it?

Hijikata is too pretty... *_*

From a quick browse through the booklet,  the game is set before the previous games and the protagonist is a guy named Ibuki Ryuunosuke. The story follows that Ryuunosuke’s mother intended for him to become a samurai, thus he had a very strict upbringing. This led him to dislike samurai in general. After his mother had passed away, he travelled to Kyoto aimlessly. On the way, he got mugged and beaten up (why is he so weak when he had received proper samurai training!?); got rescued by someone who belongs to a ‘aspire-to-be samurai’s’ group and was forced to tag along with them. The group is somehow linked with the Shinsengumi and that is how the protagonist gets all close and personal with our favourite bishies! Some screenshots from the booklet after the cut.

Since it is focussed on the samurai-spirit and ‘bro-hood’, not sure whether it is lovey-dovey at all ;;^^… Or is Hakuouki getting the bl treatment!? Just ordered it yesterday so let see how it goes!

Which one did you buy? I don’t remember seeing other ones… curious to know other Okita keychain out there XDD!

I regret not buying a lot of things too! Did you go to the Animate in Ikebukuro?

mine is the same as yours, only in wood.

initially, from the photo i had thought yours was Okita in the Shinsengumi uniform.

YES! i did went to the Animate in Ikebukuro, because my hostel is situated at the west exit of the station. pity we didn’t have time to walk Otome Road since we were in a rush to other places.

would definitely make a trip down Otome Road next time i visit Japan!

I love all of your keychains! Especially the Hetalia ones, sooo cute *_*! There is an Okita keychain in wood?! It must have been released after I have left… I want that too!

You have been to part of the Otome Road since Animate is on that road ^^. There are 2 K-books and other shops selling doujinshi along the road, but I think Animate is best for buying figures/keychains/other official goods.

Would you mind me adding your blog to my list XD?

HA! then i think i didn’t miss much since i don’t buy doujin or games. would love to have gone to the butler cafe though.

i’ll be most happy if you want to link me. already have you on my list, hope you don’t mind. ^_^.“

XD Reimeiroku isn’t really lovey dovey. It’s not a romance based game at all, but more like a backstory expansion for all your favorite bishies. I think Otomate is just dragging out the franchise, but in all honesty it’s popular enough that they can get away with it.

And nope, it didn’t get the BL treatment XDDD Although it’s still quite fun. It’s actually pretty interesting to see the character interact without the female protagonist and just with each other.

Oh darn it! I thought at least we would get some actions with the bishies! Thanks for your input! Still looking forward to playing it and making fun of their interactions with each XDDD *gets shot*.

Fuuu, it’s too bad you haven’t checked your blog in quite a while, so I don’t know if you’ll get this comment, but if you’re still in your Hakuoki phase, Aksys is bringing the PSP version over to North America in English :D
